THE ROMANIAN SOCIETY OF APPLIED AND INDUSTRIAL MATHEMATICS (ROMAI) was founded in 1992. It is a non-profit scientific association, whose members are mathematicians, physicists, engineers, chemists, biologists, economists, and other users of mathematics. ROMAI encourages studies relating mathematics and non-mathematical fields of knowledge. The principal activities in ROMAI are the annual Conferences on Applied and Industrial Mathematics (CAIMs) coorganised together with an university or/and other institution. So far, ROMAI together 363
